We request, authenticate, and deliver your Korean Basic Certificate to you, anywhere in the world. It is a general personal registry record — name, birthdate, and basic registration details such as birth registration and any legal name changes — not family or marital relationships.
This service is for anyone born in Korea, holding Korean citizenship, or previously registered in the Korean civil registry system who now needs a Basic Certificate authenticated for use abroad — including Korean nationals living overseas and their family members handling paperwork on their behalf. You do not need a Korean bank account, Korean mobile number, or Digital Certificate (Joint Certificate) — a signed power of attorney and identity verification are enough for us to request the certificate on your behalf.
There are two ways to get a Basic Certificate authenticated for use abroad once you've left Korea.
Option 1 — Handle it yourself. You can request the certificate directly from a Korean administrative office (which requires Korean identity verification, and in many cases an in-person visit or a Korean-resident representative), then bring it to Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an Apostille, or to your destination country's embassy or consulate in Korea for Consular Confirmation. This is possible without a service, but it typically requires a trip back to Korea or a Korean resident acting on your behalf.
Option 2 — Use GetKoreanDocs. We request the certificate on your behalf, complete the Apostille or Consular Confirmation, and ship the finished document to you internationally, without you needing to set foot in Korea.
Covers issuance and Hague Apostille certification, for destination countries that are Hague Convention members.
For destination countries that are not Hague Convention members. Final pricing depends on your destination country's embassy or consulate in Korea, and is confirmed during your consultation.

Yes. We request the certificate from the relevant Korean administrative office and complete the Apostille or Consular Confirmation on your behalf, without you needing to visit Korea in person.
Korea doesn't issue a separate birth certificate — the Basic Certificate, together with a Family Relation Certificate, is typically submitted where a birth certificate would otherwise be required.
It includes your name and birthdate as recorded in the Korean civil registry, plus basic registration details such as birth registration and any legal name changes — but not family or marital relationships.
Apostille and Consular Confirmation packages generally take 6 or more business days to process, not including international shipping. Exact timing depends on your destination country and is confirmed during your consultation.

Yes — this is one of the most common reasons clients reach out to us. Many are the adult children of a parent who left Korea years ago, is now a citizen of another country, and finds Korean-language government systems difficult to navigate. With your parent's signed power of attorney and identity verification, we can request and authenticate the certificate on their behalf — your parent doesn't need a Korean bank account, a Korean mobile number, a Digital Certificate (Joint Certificate), or any ability to use a Korean government website.
That's common — tell us your destination country during your free consultation, and we'll confirm the correct authentication path before anything is charged.
