We manage your Korean diplomas and transcripts from request through delivery, including credential evaluation submission if your licensing board requires it. Diplomas and transcripts issued by your Korean university, authenticated or credential-evaluated for a professional licensing application abroad.
Professional licensing boards (medical, engineering, teaching, nursing, and others) often require verified proof of academic credentials as part of the licensure process. Many boards specifically require the credentials to be evaluated by a recognized third-party agency such as WES, ECE, or ICAS, rather than a standard apostille — while others require the standard apostille or consular authentication instead.
Requesting official academic records from a Korean university, and routing them correctly to a credential evaluation agency or through apostille/consular authentication, generally requires in-person access or Korean identity verification that applicants abroad no longer have.
This service is for anyone who completed a degree program at a Korean university and now needs that degree or transcript authenticated for a professional licensing application — including foreign nationals who studied in Korea, Korean nationals living overseas, and license applicants whose board requires either standard authentication or a third-party credential evaluation. You do not need a Korean bank account, Korean mobile number, or Digital Certificate (Joint Certificate) — a signed power of attorney and identity verification are enough for us to request the records on your behalf.
WES (World Education Services), ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators), and ICAS (International Credential Assessment Service) are independent organizations based in the United States and Canada — not Korean or government agencies. They review a foreign degree and transcript and explain what it's equivalent to within the U.S. or Canadian education system.
When a university, employer, immigration program (such as Canada's Express Entry), or licensing board asks for a "credential evaluation" or "ECA" (Educational Credential Assessment), they're asking you to have your Korean diploma and transcript reviewed by one of these agencies — not simply authenticated. This is different from an Apostille, which only confirms a document is genuine. A credential evaluation goes a step further and explains what the degree actually means in the receiving country's terms.
Which agency you need — WES, ECE, or ICAS — depends on your destination country and the purpose of your application. Your receiving institution will typically tell you which one they accept; if you're not sure, let us know during your consultation and we can help you confirm it.
There are two ways to get a Korean degree or transcript authenticated for a licensing board once you've left Korea.
Option 1 — Handle it yourself. You can request the document directly from your Korean university's registrar (which may require an in-person visit or a Korean-verified online account), then bring it to Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an Apostille, to your destination country's embassy or consulate in Korea for Consular Confirmation, or submit it directly to WES/ECE/ICAS if your board requires a credential evaluation. This is possible without a service, but it typically requires either a trip back to Korea or a Korean resident acting on your behalf, plus separate visits to the university, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and, if applicable, the embassy.
Option 2 — Use GetKoreanDocs. We request the document from your university, complete the Apostille, Consular Confirmation, or direct submission to your credential evaluation agency, and ship the finished document to you internationally — without you needing to set foot in Korea or coordinate between separate offices yourself.
Three ways to complete authentication, depending on where — and to whom — your documents are going.
Covers issuance and Hague Apostille certification, for destination countries that are Hague Convention members.
Final pricing depends on your destination country's embassy or consulate in Korea, and is confirmed during your consultation.
Your Korean institution seals the document and adds a reference number, and we send it directly to your credential evaluation agency (WES, ECE, ICAS, etc.) — bypassing the apostille/consular process entirely.
