Korean Academic Documents for Visa Applications

We manage your Korean diplomas and transcripts from request through delivery — wherever your visa application is being filed. Diplomas and transcripts issued by your Korean university, authenticated as part of a visa application in another country.

Situation

Certain visa categories — including some skilled-worker visas, student visas for further study, and points-based immigration programs — require proof of prior education as part of the application. Applicants who studied in Korea are often asked to submit an authenticated Korean diploma and transcript alongside their visa paperwork.

Why This Is Difficult from Abroad

Korean academic institutions typically require a student ID login or in-person visit to issue official records, which applicants lose access to once they've left Korea — often right as a visa application deadline approaches.

Who Can Request This

This service is for anyone who completed a degree program at a Korean university and now needs that degree or transcript authenticated as part of a visa or immigration application — including foreign nationals who studied in Korea, Korean nationals living overseas, and applicants to skilled-worker, student, or points-based immigration programs that require proof of prior education. You do not need a Korean bank account, Korean mobile number, or Digital Certificate (Joint Certificate) — a signed power of attorney and identity verification are enough for us to request the records on your behalf.

Documents You'll Need

Once your consultation is confirmed and payment is complete, we'll email you the exact checklist of documents required for your case — no need to gather everything upfront.

What Is Credential Evaluation (WES / ECE / ICAS)?

WES (World Education Services), ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators), and ICAS (International Credential Assessment Service) are independent organizations based in the United States and Canada — not Korean or government agencies. They review a foreign degree and transcript and explain what it's equivalent to within the U.S. or Canadian education system.

When a university, employer, immigration program (such as Canada's Express Entry), or licensing board asks for a "credential evaluation" or "ECA" (Educational Credential Assessment), they're asking you to have your Korean diploma and transcript reviewed by one of these agencies — not simply authenticated. This is different from an Apostille, which only confirms a document is genuine. A credential evaluation goes a step further and explains what the degree actually means in the receiving country's terms.

Which agency you need — WES, ECE, or ICAS — depends on your destination country and the purpose of your application. Your receiving institution will typically tell you which one they accept; if you're not sure, let us know during your consultation and we can help you confirm it.

Getting This From Abroad: Your Options

There are two ways to get a Korean degree or transcript authenticated for a visa application once you've left Korea.

Option 1 — Handle it yourself. You can request the document directly from your Korean university's registrar (which may require an in-person visit or a Korean-verified online account), then bring it to Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an Apostille, or to your destination country's embassy or consulate in Korea for Consular Confirmation. This is possible without a service, but it typically requires either a trip back to Korea or a Korean resident acting on your behalf, plus separate visits to the university, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and, if applicable, the embassy — timing that can be difficult to manage against a visa application deadline.

Option 2 — Use GetKoreanDocs. We request the document from your university, complete the Apostille or Consular Confirmation, and ship the finished document to you internationally — without you needing to set foot in Korea or coordinate between separate offices yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get my Korean degree apostilled for a visa application if I'm no longer in Korea?

Yes. We request the document from your Korean university and complete the Apostille or Consular Confirmation on your behalf, without you needing to visit Korea in person.

Which visa categories require an authenticated Korean degree?

Certain skilled-worker visas, student visas for further study, and points-based immigration programs (such as Canada's Express Entry) commonly require proof of prior education. Requirements vary by country and visa category — if you're not sure whether yours applies, let us know during your consultation.

Do I need my original diploma to request this?

No — during your consultation we'll confirm exactly which documents are needed for your case; in most cases we request the document to be freshly issued directly by your university's registrar, on your behalf.

How long does the process take?

Apostille and Consular Confirmation packages generally take 8 or more business days to process, not including international shipping. WES/ECE/ICAS direct submission takes about 10 business days. Exact timing depends on your university and destination country, and is confirmed during your consultation — let us know your visa deadline and we'll advise on timing.

Can you ship the completed documents directly to my immigration office or lawyer?

Yes. We can ship your completed documents to your own address, to your immigration lawyer, or directly to a credential evaluation agency — wherever they need to go.

What if I'm not sure whether I need an Apostille, Consular Confirmation, or credential evaluation for my visa?

That's common — tell us your destination country and visa category during your free consultation, and we'll confirm the correct authentication path before anything is charged.
